In August, it was Pokérus‘ turn to grant us an interview. And throughout September, we worked closely in order for him and the band to have a mini tour here in Mexico. I personally proposed the band to the organizers of La Mole Convention, the biggest pop culture event in the country, when they agreed to work together in bringing more VGM to the event.
They offered two live shows for a full crowd of families, nerds and video game enthusiasts. We got to help them with merch, PR and Makoto specially enjoyed her time as our official photographer. We also had the incredible chance to hang out with them and get to know them a little better. For me personally, it was one of the most important musical experiences I’ve ever experienced. Nothing quite compares to what I felt hearing Forest Interlude played live by one of my favorite bands, knowing that I helped make it a reality.
Here’s a some of Makoto‘s photos:
On this interview, Patricio “Pokérus” talks precisely about his experience with live events. In particular, attending MAGFest was a dream come true for him, which is reflected in this excerpt submitted to Dwelling of Duels‘ Mystery Month as an alternate entry. “Pato” came up with an excellent improvisation of “Hi-Hat Café” from Detective Pikachu, as a backing track and in compliance with the month’s theme. Dubbing was once again provided by evilsonic.
Fortunately for all of the VGM fans in the US, the full Pokérus Poject band (including drummer Kyana Sun from Japan) will be performing as a main stage act for MAGFest 2025. So get your tickets while you still can! This is an extremely talented and energetic band that you don’t wanna miss.
